“Design should make your life better, not just prettier.”

Taylor Ghost, 41, Creative Strategist

That belief is at the heart of everything Taylor Ghost does, because she has witnessed design thinking impact her own life.

As Director of Business Development at STITCH Design Shop, she’s not just finding potential clients or connecting clients to the right team —she’s helping shape a vision of design that’s deeply rooted in people and purpose. Since joining the NC firm and opening their Greensboro office, Taylor has led the expansion of its interior design team and helped bring to life thoughtful, community-centered spaces for a variety of project typesFor Taylor, design is all about relationships and about building places that feel like they are uniquely conceptualized and curated for the end user.

Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Taylor came to design later in life through her love of creative pursuits and problem-solving. After earning her interior architecture degree from UNC Greensboro, she began working across residential and commercial projects, always drawn to the ways design can support how people live, work, and connect. She was also drawn to understanding how the firms she worked for and with operated, and how that relates to the evolutions taking place overall in the design industry. That same energy carries through her leadership today at STITCH, where she’s focused on building a client base, team and firm that don’t just follow trends—they create spaces that foster meaningful impact. A great example of that type of impact is the Greensboro Symphony’s Dean and Marilyn Green Rehearsal Hall, where due to its location and innovative details such as eye catching lighting, digital displays and sounds filtering into the street, the community is now in the ‘front row’ and able to be immersed in their delightful works.

“I love when design brings people together,” she says. “When a space feels intuitive, intentional—like it was made for someone, not just by someone.”

Taylor’s commitment to community is as much a part of her practice as any blueprint or material choice. She serves on the board at Greensboro Montessori School, where her daughter is a student, and sits on the development committee for the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, supporting local nonprofits and arts based organizations. She also fosters STITCH’s internal community service initiatives, giving the team space and support to contribute their skills beyond the workplace to non-profits of their choice, in each of the markets STITCH has offices.

Whether she’s mentoring a younger designer, meeting with a potential client, or volunteering her time, Taylor brings the same quiet drive: a belief that design—like life—is about intention, generosity, and lasting connections.

In quieter moments, she finds balance in the soothing pace of life here in Greensboro. You might spot her at Lawn Service with a coffee on Saturdays or chipping away on small projects for her Lindley Park home. For Taylor, it all comes back to purposefulness — design that’s rooted in care, and built to stand the test of time. She is proud to build a life and a portfolio here.
